Leader provides activities, advisory services and funding

Oulun Seudun Leader ry is one of Finland’s 53 local action groups (LAGs). Our mission is to inspire local residents to take part in developing their home region, create networks, and strengthen cooperation between people and organizations. We want to keep our rural areas vibrant, create jobs and services, and improve well-being and leisure opportunities.

We organize events, offer funding opportunities and project guidance, and carry out our own development initiatives. The bottom–up approach is at the heart of Leader: local people and organizations put forward their own ideas, apply for funding, and participate in decision-making through the Leader Board. Leader always works close to the people and responds to local needs.

Our main funding comes from local municipalities, the Finnish state, and the EU’s Rural Development Fund.
